MicroWaid® runs on most vector network analysers (Agilent® PNA, Agilent® ENA, HP® 8722, HP® 8753, R&S® ZVA, Anritsu® ShockLine).
Once you have acquired the data from a golden unit, anyone can immediately start tuning.
The operator is only required to move and lock each tuning element (typically a screw and a nut)
in a specified sequence, until the visualised trace falls within limit lines.
ONLY PRIVILEGED OPERATORS ARE ALLOWED TO:
- create and edit item setups, specifying center frequencies, bandwidths and number of tuning elements
- specify which S-parameters have to be measured, within which frequency ranges and at what levels
- acquire the golden data
EVERY OTHER OPERATOR CAN:
- tune a single filter
- use the golden data to tune a diplexer
- perform the final test
THE ENTIRE PRODUCTION CYCLE IS SPLITTED INTO THE FOLLOWING FIVE MAIN ACTIVITIES:
- connecting the unit to the instrument
- guided tuning (through MicroWaid®)
- final tuning
- final testing (through MicroWaid®)
- detaching the unit off the instrument
In background, the time dedicated to each activity by every single operator is recorded, as well as items’ and instruments’ performances.
Such invaluable information can then be analysed by process and product engineers in order to further improve productivity and reduce costs.
